Where does our content come from?
Since February 2024, Dr Clifford Yudelman has recorded more than 120 episodes of Bespaar je geld, spaar je tanden with Eon Engelbrecht of E-Radio SA, answering the questions patients ask about their teeth, their treatment and what it costs. Those two and a half years of conversations, in his own words, are the source of what you read on this website.
How do we use AI?
We use AI tools to transcribe Dr Yudelman’s recordings and to summarise what he said into written pages. AI does not decide what we recommend. Every page is checked against Dr Yudelman’s own words before it goes live.
Who is responsible for what you read?
Dr. Clifford Yudelman BDS (Wits), Founder and Principal Dentist of OptiSmile, HPCSA registration DP0042919, is the author of our content and the dentist responsible for checking every page. You can check his registration on the HPCSA’s online register.
What do the bylines mean?
“Clinically reviewed by Dr Clifford Yudelman” and the date show when he last checked that page. On podcast pages, “in conversation with Eon Engelbrecht” shows that the page comes from a recorded episode.
How do we keep pages up to date?
We update a page when clinical guidance, materials or our fees change, and the byline shows the date it was last reviewed. Fees come from OptiSmile’s current fee schedule.
Wat zullen we níét doen?
We do not claim to be the best, the first or the only practice for anything, we do not promise results, and we do not call a dentist a specialist unless the HPCSA registers them as one. We do not publish before-and-after photographs.
Is this advice for me?
Our pages explain treatments in general terms. Only an examination can tell you what is right for your teeth.
